What is the difference between 3D and 4D ultrasounds? A 4D ultrasound is a movie or video clip of your baby. The 3D is the still photograph of the baby. Top

Is getting an elective (non-medical) ultrasound safe for my baby? Getting an ultrasound has traditionally been regarded as a medical procedure and so physicians have been traditionally instructed to weigh the unknown risks with the benefits. In 35 years of widespread almost universal use of ultrasounds, there has not been a single known case of a miscarriage or abnormality attributed to the use of ultrasounds. Its safety profile has been proven over the decades. Top

Are their any other benefits, other than seeing the baby, to receiving a 3D4D ultrasound? The importance and benefit of seeing your baby should not be understated. Bonding with your baby during pregnancy has an immense benefit, and elective (non-medical) 3D ultrasounds has been shown to improve bonding between mother and child and also between father and child. Women who have received a 3D ultrasound are motivated to have healthy behavior during pregnancy, such as taking prenatal vitamins, and are more likely to breastfeed after the birth of their child. They are more likely to quit smoking and avoid alcoholic beverages after receiving a 3D ultrasound of their baby. So there are many indirect and unmeasurable benefits to having a 3D ultrasound of your baby Top

When is the best time for a 3D4D ultrasound? In our experience, the ideal time to get the best images on 3D ultrasound is between 23 and 32 weeks. . We can provide ultrasounds for customers to come up to 37 weeks but after 33 weeks viewing is unpredictable. Please note that after 32 weeks, the baby may have already begun his or her descent to the outside world, and in that case, images may not be obtainable at all. Top

Do you have any hidden fees? No. The price that you see on our website is the price that you pay when you arrive at our facility. Many of our packages do have add-on options. Top

Will you be able to see if anything is wrong with my baby? No medical diagnosis or evaluation takes place. This service is purely for family bonding and enjoyment. We only see the outside of the baby, and so this ultrasound can not take the place of your medical ultrasound performed by your ob/gyn physician. Top

Will insurance cover my 3D4D scan? Because 3D ultrasounds provided by Pregnancy Treasures are not medical procedures and are not medically necessary, medical insurance does not pay for this service. Top

What type of machine do you use? Our facility has a fantastic brand new Medison X8 3D /4D ultrasound machine. This is the latest technology available on the market today! For those who do not know, Medison invented 3D/4D technology and shares its technology with other companies because it is the industry's best 3D/4D technology. Although our new systems has the latest version of this 3D/4D technology, companies like GE still use older dated versions of this technology in their GE 730 systems. When you want the best images you can get, it is all in the technology and technician's performing your session. Top

Do I need a full bladder? No. We want to make this experience as pleasurable as possible. We do recommend keeping yourself well hydrated for several days prior to your visit. We suggest you have at least 8 glasses of water each day. This is especially important in the week leading up to your appointment. Moms may want to have some juice 5-10 minutes before your appointment to get your little one awake and ready for show-time! Top

Will my pictures be great like the ones you see on the internet? All the pictures on our site have been taken by our ultrasound technicians using our equipment. Some facilities use stock photo's provided by the manufacturer of their equipment or their franchisee. These stock photos may be enchanced or altered and will not be an accurate representation of what you will receive during your session. Several factors determine the quality of the ultrasound photos: -Maternal body tissue While the Medison X8 ultrasound machine does allow us to make adjustments, maternal size may be a factor. Therefore, we make the following recommendations: Small framed clients, 5'2" and under: We want your little one to have room to move so we suggest 25-30 weeks for 3D/4D imaging. Fuller figured clients: If the mother is full figured, the sound waves have more tissue to travel through which causes grainier photos therefore 30-34 weeks is best 3D/4D imaging. -Amount of amniotic fluid Sound waves require fluid to travel through to create the images. The more amniotic fluid you have, the more clear your photos will be. -Location of placenta The location of the placenta is one factor that we cannot change. The placenta can be in front of the uterus, to the back or the side. If the placenta is in the front, it can block the baby's face. -Position of baby If the baby is facing your spine, we will probably only be able to get pictures of the back of the head or possibly a profile. Our technicians will try to reposition you as an attempt to get the baby to move. Having more amniotic fluid will be helpful if this is the case. If you have any questions as to what time may be best for your appointment don't hesitate to call. We're happy to answer any questions you have. Top
